1948 Mint Gillette Aristocrat w Case Blades Shipping Box

1948 Mint Gillette Aristocrat w Case Blades Shipping Box More Pictures

1948 Mint Gillette Aristocrat Cased Safety Razor Set With Shippers Box.  This Fantastic Mint Set comes with the Shipping Box included, it is partially intact as can be seen in the pictures, not too bad for being 67 years old. Shipping box may be able to be repaired. Please see the pictures. The set also comes with the Original Instructions, which as you can see from the pictures is in Very Good Condition. The razor shows Absolutely No plate loss, there are no dings or scratches what so ever.  The razor is in Mint Condition, it appears to never have been used.  The head and handle are bright and shiney, the TTO (twist to open) doors open smoothly and close tightly and evenly to hold the blade in place.

Everything about this razor is Mechanically Perfect, the TTO (twist to open) mechanism works smoothly and turns easily as it was meant to do.  The blades come in the Original Blue and Cream dispenser which is also in Mint Condition. The hinges of the case are in Perfect working order with No rust or Ware and snap the lid closed as they should. The blade gap on both sides of the razor is even as can be seen in the pictures.

The inside of the case is in Mint Condition, with No Ware, the fabric in the case is without holes or tares, the fabric in the lid of the case is also without holes or any kind of wear. The Gillette logo and Made in USA can be clearly seen on the satin fabric that lines the inside top of the case.  The fabric inside the case, top and bottom has not lost any of its color or vibrance.

This is a great razor which in my opinion is Absolutely Collectible, or can be used as a daily shaver.  A Stunning Antique Gillette Gold Plated Razor! As always please be sure to look closely at all the pictures also be sure to look at the pictures that I have posted on YouTube.

Spanning approximately 70 years, the Aristocrat name plate was the longest running of the Gillette line of DE razors and, in my opinion, was their flagship razor.  True, more upscale and pricier sets were made, but only for short periods of time, while the Aristocrat enjoyed fairly steady production until a decade long break from 1951 to 1961.  This appears to have been a very popular razor in its time.
