1961 Gillette Aristocrat W Case Blades G3

1961 Gillette Aristocrat W Case Blades G3 Pictures

Here we have a 1961 Gillette Aristocrat W Case Blades G3 in Very Good Plus Condition.  This Fantastic Collectible razor has been re-plated and looks Magnificent. After a decade long absence, the Aristocrat made a comeback in 1961 in the form of a gold-plated Slim Adjustable that came in an elongated hard plastic presentation case, and was produced until 1967 or 1968.  This model has the distinction of being the last all metal gold-plated razors that Gillette ever produced.  The razor and plastic case appear in Very Good + Condition.
The outside of the case is also in great condition bearing almost no scratching although the back of the case between the hinges there is a Very Small Amount of chipping on the edge of the case which can be seen clearly in the pictures.

The hinges of the razor case are intact and work flawlessly as they should.
Included with this absolutely 'hard to find' vintage kit is a NOS ( new old stock ) dispenser of 5 Gillette Super Silver Stainless Blades, still in the cellophane wrapper.  The inside of the razor case is in almost MINT condition with no rips or tares to the fabric and no damageto the plastic holder or top inside of the case.

Production date is G-3, 1961 3rd quarter, this was the first year of the
Slim Adjustable Razors.  The razor is in Very Good + Condition and has been professionally re-plated and adjusted so that everything works correctly.  The numbers are 100% black coloured. The TTO (twist to open) head opens and closes as it should, and closes tightly to hold the blade in place.  This great vintage razor is mechanicaly perfect.  The blade gap is parallel for perfect shaving. The adjustment ring turns and clicks into each setting, adjusting the shave from quite mild to a medium-high aggressiveness.
Spanning approximately 70 years, the Aristocrat name plate was the longest running of the Gillette line of DE razors and, in my opinion, was their flagship razor.  True, more upscale and pricier sets were made, but only for short periods of time, while the Aristocrat enjoyed fairly steady production until a decade long break from 1951 to 1961.  This appears to have been a sleepvery popular razor in its time.  Please be sure to look closely at all the pictures, they are an exact representation of this Fantastic Collectible Item.
